Conceptual Illustration For a proposed Stickista 2004 Calendar, which for various reasons never came to fruition, here are some artwork ideas. The photos were taken by Paul Nixdorf, from a Wind, Sand & Stars gig featuring Art Durkee on Stick and frame drums, and Eddie Estrin on electronic & acoustic percussion. The processing techniques are my own customized Photoshop illustration techniques. For the front cover of the propsed calendar, something more artistic was my preference, rather than repeating an image already inside the body of the piece. A collage was another possibility.     Stick Playing Artwork, Summer 2002 Photos by Tony Kapella, using my camera. Processed later by me in Photoshop, to show an visual art equivalent to the improvised music session where these were taken. This was a Dangerous Odds gig at Mother Fool's in Madison, WI.     NAMM 2005 Photos and conceptual artwork from the NAMM 2005 show in Los Angeles. NAMM is an annual music industry trade show. This is a highlight of the year for Stick players in general, and was a major thrill for me to be there.
