I am creating an ongoing series of nudes in outdoor, natural settings.
This project began in the summer of 2000, when friends agreed to model for me at the Temperance River in northern Minnesota. More recently, I have been doing nudes at the ocean shore and in the hills around the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
As a gay man, I primarly but not exclusively work with male nudes. The beauty I pursue is of that the actual person, not a stereotype of classical form. The finished works are intended to be visionary, erotic, and ecstatic. Sexuality is not denied, but neither is it the principal focus.
Concerns of the series:
The beauty of the nude human form in natural settings. The textures
of skin, stone, and water. The sensuality of changing light. Eros
